About

Adjusted Realists tell theatrical stories about slightly unhinged worlds. Their first production was the acclaimed revival of Nicky Silver's Pterodactyls. Recent productions include the world premiere of Gluten! at 59E59 Theaters, ​Chickens in the Yard, ​​The Briefly Dead, and The Beyoncé. They've received multiple recognitions from the New York Innovative Theatre Awards (NYIT). The collective was founded in 2014.

JESSICA GREENBERG (Company Member) is a designer and educator, with interdisciplinary interests in theatre, dance, opera, and architectural projection art installations. New York credits include productions at La Mama Experimental Theatre Club, A.R.T. New York, 59E59, and Epic Theatre Ensemble Education Programs. Conference presentations or public talks include World Stage Design, USITT, Prague Quadrennial, SIG Computer Science Education, CrisisART, and TEDx. She has taught or been a guest artist at Hampshire, Endicott, Amherst, Smith and Yale.  Jessica is currently an Associate Professor of Theatre Design at Weber State University. STEPHEN KALISKI (Founding Member and Artistic Director) is a director, playwright, and educator. He was recently the Resident Director of Broadway's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Jack O'Brien. Other directing credits include Gluten! ​(59E59), Dead Shot Mary, Pterodactyls (Teatro Circulo), A Midsummer Night’s Dream and In the Next Room or the vibrator play (Yale Dramatic Association). Playwriting credits include West Lethargy, which was published in Plays and Playwrights 2011 (ed. Martin Denton), His Minute Hand, Any May Now, The Briefly Dead, and The Refugees. He has worked with such directors as Austin Pendleton (Three Sisters, Assistant Director) and Michael Grandage (Evita on Broadway, SDC Traube Fellow) as well as with The Royal Shakespeare Company, Classic Stage Company, and LAByrinth Theater Company. Stephen received his BA in English from Davidson College and his MFA in directing from Brooklyn College. He’s taught acting, directing, public speaking, and master classes on leadership and joy at Fordham, Brooklyn College, NYU, LIU Post, Yale, The Professional Performing Arts School, Talent Unlimited High School, and BMCC. He is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre and Writing Studies at Davidson College. www.stephenkaliski.com.

MAGGIE LOW (Company Member) has been a New York actor for over thirty years working Off-Broadway, regionally, in independent films, television and radio. She has originated roles in Catholic School Girls, Candle in the Window, Times of War, The Big Vig, Venus' Diary and Kerry and Angie. She played Grace in Pterodactyls with Adjusted Realists. Recently she acted in and directed TITANS a new web-series. Feature films and television include: The Cold Lands, Postcards from America, Deborah Sampson, and a guest lead on Law & Order. Maggie currently teaches at Maggie Low Studio and The American Academy of Dramatic Arts; curates Play with Your Dinner at Coogan’s, and is a Lifetime Member of the Actors Studio.

MATT MASTROMATTEO (Company Member and Producer) is an actor, educator, and producer. He received his BA in Theatre and Music from Mount St. Mary’s University and his MFA in Theatre Arts: Acting from Long Island University: C.W. Post. Favorite credits include: As You Like It  [PostGrad Theatre Co.], Othello [PostGrad Theatre Co.], Memoriam [FringeNYC], and West Side Story [Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre]. As co-founder of Hypnic Theatre Company, he's produced Memoriam: After Euripides Alcestis at FringeNYC 2016. RACHEL McPHEE (Company Member and Producer) is an actor and producer and served as the Executive Director of award winning theatre company On the Square Productions from 2008-2013.  She received her BA at the University of Wisconsin and her Post Graduate Degree in Professional Acting from the Drama Studio London. Favorite acting credits include: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Momsters, Boardwalk Empire, Vieux Carre at the Pearl Theater and The Footage at the Flea. Most recently she produced and appeared in Dead Shot Mary, a solo show based on the phenomenal true story of Mary Shanley, one of the first women to be made first grade detective in the NYPD  during the 1930s. www.rachelmcphee.com

REGAN SIMS (Company Member) is an actor and mime from Manhattan, NY. Theatre credits include roles with 59E59, TheaterWorksUSA, ART/NY Theaters, The PIT, Crossroads Theatre Company, Mile Square Theatre, Hudson Valley Shakespeare, Bay Area Children’s Theatre, Irvington Theater and Shakespeare’s Globe, London.
